Jennifer Uxer, D.O., board certified obgyn, has minimally invasive and robotic surgical training
Jennifer Uxer, D.O., joined our Austin obgyn team in 2017. A welcome addition to Renaissance Women’s Group, she brings her skill and training as a robotic and minimally invasive surgeon to her patients, along with professional, compassionate care.
Dr. Uxer took a unique path to medicine, beginning with her Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Baylor University and then a career in electrical engineering. She went on to complete her medical training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Jennifer Uxer, D.O. – Honors and Awards
Dr. Uxer moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania for residency in obstetrics in gynecology, which she completed at Lehigh Valley Health Network hospital in Allentown, a program affiliated with Penn State University. There, Dr. Uxer received several honors, including:
- Administrative Chief Resident
- Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Best Teaching Resident award
- Medical Student Teacher award
Dr. Uxer also has experience as an educator. In addition to practicing medicine after her residency, she also served as a teacher for medical students and residents in the Lehigh Valley Health Network hospitals.
In addition to earning board certification, Dr. Uxer is also a member of the following professional societies: The Travis County Medical Society (TCMS); the Texas Medical Association (TMA); the American Medical Association (AMA); and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
Hiking, traveling, running, gardening, reading and playing the piano keep Dr. Uxer busy in the free time she has with her husband and pets.
