Megan McCoin, M.D. comes to us from chilly Rhode Island, where she completed her fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University; but she’s practically a native Texan. Dr. McCoin was born in Park Forest, Illinois, and made several moves before landing in Texas. She graduated from Tomball High School where she found her niche in running, which she enjoys to this day. Dr. McCoin was a member of the track and cross-country teams throughout her high school and college career.
Dr. McCoin then went on to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and graduated in 2004 with honors including Phi Beta Kappa. Although she is now in the land of burnt orange, she says she will always be a Baylor Bear at heart!
After her time at Baylor, Dr. McCoin moved down I-35 to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, where her interest in Women’s Health was sparked. During this time, she was able to travel internationally, working and setting up clinics in Mexico and India, giving her a more global picture of health care, specifically women’s health.
Post graduation, Dr. McCoin left her Texas roots and headed to Rhode Island for her fellowship training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University, where her I flip-flops were promptly traded for a heavy winter jacket!
Dr. McCoin is thrilled to be back in Texas, especially Austin, and join the team of doctors at The OB/GYN Group of Austin and CTOA!
